The constraint
- Findings spanned identity, logging, and vulnerability management: three different skill sets.
- The platform team owned the remediation on paper but had no bandwidth to sequence it.
- Progress had to be reportable to a governance committee every month.
What we did
- Stood up a managed team with a named lead accountable for sequencing and reporting.
- Grouped findings by control owner rather than by severity alone, so each workstream had one decision-maker.
- Produced monthly status written for the governance committee, not for the project channel.
How it ended
- Findings closed or formally risk-accepted within the reporting window.
- Platform team roadmap commitments were unaffected.
- Remediation runbooks and control documentation handed over at close-out.
Client name withheld. This is a composite of engagement shapes we work on regularly, written so the constraints and sequencing are useful rather than as an attributed reference.
